Our Pastor

Reverend Ananias Hopkins, III is a native of Thomasville, GA.  He is the second son born to Deacon Ananias Hopkins, Jr. and Mother Rosetta Hopkins.   He and his wife, Jacquelyn, are parents of two sons, Ananias IV, Christopher and one daughter, Heather.  They are also the proud parents of two grandsons, Kelson, Ananias V and two granddaughters, Khortlyn and Jacquelyn.

Secondary educational pursuits include matriculation in business administration at Pensacola Junior College, Pensacola FL and Thomas University, Thomasville, GA.

Civic organizations include NAACP, Former Board of Education Member for Thomasville City School System, Former Board Member of Halcyon Homes (Shelter for Battered Women), Present Board Member of Heavenly Home (Home for Displaced Adults).  Professionally, Rev. Hopkins is retired from the State of Georgia as a Mental Health Counselor and presently serves as Office Manager of Hopkins Mortuary, Inc., a family-owned and operated funeral home. 

Religious responsibilities have included serving as Chairman of the Camilla District Union of the Camilla Baptist Association; Second Vice Moderator of the Camilla Baptist Association; and presently serving as President of Second District of the General M. B. Convention of Georgia. 

Former pastorates include the Wilson Chapel M. B. Church, Cairo, GA and the New Hope M.B. Church, Boston, GA.  He is presently the Pastor of the St. Mary M.B. Church, Baconton, GA, where he has humbly served for the past twenty-four years.

Pastor Hopkins is a born-again, dedicated, Pastor who loves the Lord and all mankind.
